There are those who are placed upon this earth to bring comfort and service to others just as there are those who are placed here and may find themselves in need of that comfort and service.The former are what this site is all about... two people who devoted their lives in the service of God as missionaries to China during the early years of the 20th Century..
The two are Reverend Robert A Mitchell and his wife Dr Jennie Mitchell. They came from Ontario, Canada and spent some thirty years working in Honan Province, China as missionaries running a missionary school and giving medical and spiritual sustenance to the local inhabitants.
During that time they had three children, one of which became a doctor in Ontario, Canada.... during his years at University the main form of communication was by letter and because of that we have this Chronicle to share.
This site is a reproduction of the letters that were sent home to him .... some are mundane but many are profound and all share with us the way things were during the 1920's in China...
And so we begin.....
